Rampart Products was born from a desire to provide great customer service with a reasonable delivery time to those in need of HPHT electrical connectors. Rampart Products’ team is comprised of individuals who offer decades of engineering experience in the oil and gas industry. Skill sets range from designing complete downhole tool systems to creating efficient manufacturing processes, along with in-depth knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing of HPHT electrical connectors.
Ed, a Rampart co-founder, focused on drilling tool mechanical engineering since graduating from Texas A&M. His career began in 1990 with Smith International developing Dyna-Drill mud motors.
Moving to a startup in 1992, BICO Drilling Tools, Ed developed two generations of mud lubed motor designs that consistently outperformed oil sealed bearing packs under harsh conditions. Additionally, he worked on an instrumented mud motor, a rotary steerable system and, specialized drilling tools for river crossings.
In 2003, Ed formed Oilwell Solutions to develop a low-cost rotary steerable system of which the rights were sold. Along the way, companies requested he consult on their varied engineering projects such as MWD/LWD and wellbore cleanout tools to surface equipment for pressure control during underbalanced drilling.
Ed is still the president of Oilwell Solutions who offers a novel line of EM-MWD gap subs that have proven to be very reliable and the most cost-effective solution on the market.
Sean, a Rampart co-founder, is a skilled mechanical designer of downhole drilling tools and packaging electronics for harsh environment applications.
In 1992 Sean joined BICO Drilling Tools where he worked with Ed Beshoory. Together they were part of a team that created a new, easy to maintain, mud lubed motor design that contains features still in use today.
Sean moved to Sensorwise, an engineering consultant to Halliburton, then GE-Tensor and finally the US Navy at Applied Research Labs: University of Texas. During this period Sean acquired the knowledge to package electronics for severe service applications such as MWD and LWD systems as well as autonomous underwater vehicles.
In 2006, Sean returned to Houston and partnered with Ed Beshoory at Oilwell Solutions. He is still active with Oilwell Solutions.
Daniel, a Rampart partner, has spent his entire career in electro-mechanical systems used for oil & gas drilling industry after receiving his BSChE from the University of Tulsa.
His career began in 2002 as an LWD Field Engineer with Computalog Drilling Services (later a part of Weatherford). Daniel has worked in roles ranging from engineering, manufacturing, sales, and quality to senior leadership. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience gained from working as the consumer/end-user of products to the manufacturer of many of those same products. He loves to learn, grow, and continually push himself. Daniel believes that good leadership, a dedication to quality, innovation, and vital customer service are the keys to a company’s success and strives for each day.
Michael, a Rampart co-founder, after serving in the US Navy he earned a BSME from the University of Houston and began his career as a Subsea Design Engineer at Dril-Quip with a focus on wellhead connectors, running tools and riser systems design.
Michael spent the majority of his career as an Applications Engineer for Greene Tweed and Co. where he developed HPHT Electrical Connectors. He also temporarily managed the new product development manufacturing group and the test lab.
In 2012, Michael moved to CDI Products and managed the Electrical Connector group while assisting the seal group where he designed and developed many variations of seal technology from the geometric design to material performance.
Rich joined Rampart Products in October of 2021 as the Oil & Gas Business Development Manager. He now manages the Global Oil & Gas Sales team.
He has a BS in Industrial Distribution and an Executive MBA from Texas A&M University.
He has over 20 years of experience at connector and seal manufacturers leading sales teams; and in material, and product development; strategic and production planning, application engineering; and building customer relationships in the industrial, food & beverage, semiconductor, plastic molding markets, and upstream O&G.
Kseniya first came to Rampart in September 2018 as an Accountant. She left to pursue other goals for a brief period but realized that Rampart was her home and came back in January of 2023.
She holds a MS of Accountancy from the University of Houston. She is also certified as a Logistics Technician, Logistics Associate, and Professional in Human Resources.
She is excellent with numbers and ensures we all stay in line at Rampart. She once secretly told her boss she loves making spreadsheets. Give her a computer, and she can take over the world!
Kevin Joined Rampart in July 2023 as our Production Planner and Quality Engineer.
Kevin graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio before starting his career as an MWD Field Engineer for Halliburton then progresses from operations to quality and HSE. He is experienced with MWD tools, LWD tools, mud motors, and rotary steerable tools.
Andreas, a Rampart partner, earned his BSME from the University of Applied Sciences in Constance, Germany and is expert in machinery design and automation.
Before emigrating to the USA in 2018 Andreas developed electrical circuit test systems where he earned his first patent and chocolate making machinery. After joining Rampart, he has applied his ingenuity to continually improve our products and manufacturing processes while also earning patents.
